Undeniable Miracle – Persuasive Sermon!

Undeniable Miracle – Persuasive Sermon!

What another great day that must have been (like the day of Pentecost in Acts 2)!

  • Jesus was the Messiah!
    • Prophecies were fulfilled, witnesses saw him risen from the dead, and all the while the healed man is standing before them!
  • Is it any wonder that “many of those who had heard the message believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand” (Acts 4:4)?

Will we be persuaded today?

  • Remember: “There’s none so blind as those who will not see”! – i.e., people will not see what they are stubbornly determined to avoid seeing!

Miracles of the Cross

Several miracles are recorded as having taken place around the time of the cross of Jesus.

How many of these six (6) so-called “miracles of the cross” can you name?

Jn. 20:30-31  Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31  but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.

Why Doubt?

Doubt can hit us at anytime. It normally hits us when we believe we don’t have the capacity to properly deal with a given circumstance, whether that’s having the knowledge or the experience of the circumstance. In todays sermon we look at Peter and the boldness he exuded when he was brought before the Jewish religious leaders to give testimony of the ‘good deed’ which was done to the lame man. You would think that this man never suffered from doubt but that isn’t he case. This confidence he had came from many failures over the years spent with the greatest of teachers to walk the earth. What can we learn from him, the religious leaders and the Lame man about doubt? Please join us to find out.

Demons, Exorcism, Witchcraft and Astrology

Four questions for today:

  1. Do demons possess people today as they did in the days of Jesus and the apostles
  2. If so, do we need ‘exorcists’ today to get rid of them?
  3. Does witchcraft have any real power?
  4. Can we know our future by studying the stars and planets as in Astrology? (i.e. looking up your ‘horoscopes’)

Prophecies of Resurrection

  1. Jesus’ resurrection was prophesied

(a) About 1,000 years before the time of Jesus’ ministry!

(b) About 700 years before the time of Jesus’ ministry!

(c) During Jesus’ ministry

  1. Jesus’ resurrection was proven
  2. Our resurrection is also prophesied
  3. Our resurrection is also proven

Jesus feeds the 5,000 – food for thought

Physical food miraculously supplied for the 5,000 men is also serious “food for thought”!

An exposition of Matthew 14:13-21

Lessons:

  • God can also supply our physical needs!
  • God can do even more than we can ask or think! Don’t be “hardened” like the apostles were.

God can also supply our spiritual needs!
