Moses’ 5 Objections

There was a great work to be done (leaving slavery in Egypt), but …

Moses’ Five (5) Objections

  1. Who am I? (Ex. 3:11)
  2. What shall I say to them? (Ex. 3:13)
  3. What if they will not believe me or listen? (Ex. 4:1)
  4. I have never been eloquent (Ex. 4:10)
  5. Please send someone else (Ex. 4:13, NIV)

There is also a great work to be done today (saving souls from slavery to sin) …

Let’s not make similar objections today:

  • 2:14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing;

1Cor. 15:58  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.

By faith the people of old gained approval

Today I would like us to think about people who do have faith in God.

  • Some who do have faith in God do not please God
  • Others do please God by their faith. e.g., Many people of old pleased God by their faith

Why did these please God by their faith, while others who had faith did not please God?
Let’s be reminded of just how these people of old pleased God by their faith, so that we can imitate them …

Why Should I Believe?

  1. Six (6) good and valid reasons to believe in God
  2. Four (4) good and valid reasons to believe that the Bible is from God
  3. Four (4) good and valid reasons to believe in Jesus
  4. A good/valid reason to do more than just believe in Jesus

Six Questions from James 2 (Faith & Works)

1. What use is it my brethren if someone says he has faith but he has no works? (James 2 verse 14)
2. Can faith without works save him? (James 2 verse 14)
3. But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? (James 2 verse 20)
